Dr. Strickler received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Westminster College in northwestern Pennsylvania and her Masters degree in Psychology from Penn State University. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced general veterinary medicine in Tennessee prior to completing her specialty training in veterinary behavior at Appalachian Veterinary Specialists in Knoxville, TN. During her residency, she conducted a research project funded by the Waltham Foundation evaluating enrichment techniques utilized by cat owners. Dr. Strickler is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (DACVB). Dr. Strickler is also certified as a behavior consultant through the IAABC (International Association of Behavior Consultants).​
​Dr. Strickler was an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine for five years. She has also taught undergraduate psychology classes as an adjunct in Northeast Tennessee. She is an active lecturer to veterinarians and staff both nationally and regionally on veterinary behavior topics.
​Because of her background of experience in both human psychology and animal behavior, Dr. Strickler brings a unique combination of knowledge, skill and compassion to her treatment of her patients. She also has a special interest in enhancing her patient’s lives through cognitive and physical enrichment.
​Dr. Strickler enjoys hiking with her family, which includes two very active boys and two precious senior dogs.
Dr. Boas received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Iowa State University, and continued at Iowa State University to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Casselton Veterinary Service in Casselton, North Dakota in 2021, practicing small and large animal medicine.
Dr. Boas enjoys working with all kinds of animals, both large and small. Through her own anxious and reactive dogs, she has developed a love for understanding and managing behavior in pets. In her free time, she volunteers with animal shelters through community outreach programs and fosters dogs with medical needs, often encountering the behavioral challenges of a pet adapting to a new home. In 2023, Dr. Boas entered a residency program under the mentorship of Dr. Beth Strickler to pursue a board certification with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.
She shares her home with her husband, four dogs (Moose, a coonhound mix; Bear, a lab/mastiff mix; Walter, a German Shepherd; and Hank, a Bassett hound mix), and four horses. When not working, she enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, and enjoying time outdoors.
Dr. Adele Hilliard, hails originally from Leicestershire, England, but moved to South Carolina at age 11. She completed her bachelor’s degree in animal and veterinary sciences at Clemson University and earned her veterinary degree from the University of Georgia in 2014. After ten years in general practice, she is now pursuing a residency to become a Board-Certified Veterinary Behaviorist, and is opening her own behavior clinic in Greenville, SC.
Dr. Hilliard’s career includes extensive work in shelter medicine in both the US and England, along with roles in preventative medicine, nutrition, and behavior. She has been actively involved with organizations like Vets for Pets and People and the Christian Veterinary Fellowship. Post-graduation, Dr. Hilliard provided veterinary services in Wyoming and Colorado before settling in Greenville, South Carolina, to be closer to family.
Today, her professional focus is on animal behavior, striving to ensure happy homes for dogs and cats and a fear-free experience at her clinic. Personally, Dr. Hilliard enjoys life with her husband, Austin, their two daughters, Adelaide and Avalene, and their golden retriever, Angus. The family loves exploring the local mountains, traveling to England annually, and Dr. Hilliard indulges in baking and interior design.
Beth is a graduate of Herkimer College in Upstate New York with a degree in Tourism and Events Management. She has worked in the travel industry, Kentucky State Government, and in the veterinary medical field. She joined our team as a Veterinary Behavior Assistant/Client Care Representative in the summer of 2016.
She grew up in Western New York, lived in Colorado, Kentucky and Alabama before she and her husband planted roots in Johnson City, TN. They have adopted two beautiful children, 2 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. Beth also enjoys working out, hiking and riding her horse.
Leticia is a licensed veterinary technician, is Fear Free Certified, and also Human Animal Bond Certified. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She has always had an interest in animal behavior and positive reinforcement training. She is thrilled to be part of the Veterinary Behavior Solutions Team.
She grew up in Alabama, lived in Colorado for about 15 years, then moved to Tennessee in 2015 with her husband and daughter. Leticia has 3 amazing dogs, 2 adorable rescue cats, and a ball python. Leticia enjoys hiking with her dogs, traveling, and reading.
Brooke is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Biology and concentration in Zoology. She found her love for animal behavior while working with the dogs from the Cookeville/ Putnam County Animal Shelter. After college, she was an intern at Turpentine Creek Wildlife refuge where she worked with over 90 exotic cats and bears. Brooke is Fear Free certified as well as CPDT-KA certified as a professional dog trainer. In her free time she enjoys being adventurous and traveling with her dog Oliver. She is excited to be a part of the Veterinary Behavior Solutions team and continue to learn about the world of animal behavior.
